'still boys' is an ongoing photographic exploration of community, belonging, and the relationships that shape the young men of today. The work examines the visible and invisible connections that develop between them, and the ways these relationships shape their sense of belonging.

Through portraits, observations, and moments of everyday life, the project reveals the diverse 'families' that form between the boys, alongside the traditions, rituals, and shared experiences that bind them together across generations.

At the heart of the work is a personal search for belonging. Brilliant's own experience of finding community was neither immediate nor straightforward, and the absence of connection has often felt as significant as its presence. This tension-between inclusion and isolation, visibility and invisibility-continues to inform his practice. Photography provides a way of looking closely at these relationships, exploring how communities are formed, sustained, and remembered over time.

Rather than presenting a definitive portrait, still boys invites viewers to reflect on the nature of community itself: how it is built through care, compassion, shared experience, and mutual recognition.
